The Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden is set in ten acres of secluded Surrey countryside and is more reminiscent of a tropical rainforest than a traditional English garden. The Sculpture Garden welcomes school visits from mid April to the last week in October. There are around 200 sculptures to see in the Garden, in a huge variety of styles and materials.

The Sculpture Garden provides a safe place to study and is relevant to various subjects across the curriculum, such as Design and Technology; general Art & Design, History of Art, Photography, Landscape Design, Leisure & Tourism, and Environmental Studies. Drawing, painting and photography classes may be held in the Sculpture Garden by arrangement.

The exotic large-leafed plants in the Garden also have sculptural and architectural qualities and are an equal source of creative inspiration. A magical atmosphere surrounds the Garden that, in our experience, appeals to children and adults alike.

Bookings for groups no larger than 30 pupils with a suitable number of adults should be made in advance and visits take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during our open season from 10.30am till 5pm. We always do our best to ensure large groups have the Garden to themselves, or groups are staggered throughout the day. Smaller groups (under 10) are also welcome to visit on Thursdays and Fridays, when the general public will also be in the Sculpture Garden. Standard admission prices will apply on Thursdays and Fridays.

The cost is   £ 7.20 per schoolchild (under 16)

                     £ 8.40 per student

£ 9.60 per teacher / tutor or accompanying adult

                      Prices are INCLUSIVE of VAT

A non-refundable deposit of 25% is payable at the time of booking. We know from experience that groups usually like to arrive mid-morning, see the sculpture, have lunch (please bring a picnic with you) and then draw in the afternoon. There are no refreshment facilities at the Sculpture Garden. We would also like to draw your attention to our Litter & Recycling Policy practiced throughout the Garden - please ensure that any litter is either kindly taken back to school or placed in one of the bins provided behind reception.

A recce visit is highly recommended, and is free when arranged before a confirmed school visit . We advise that at least one adult accompanies 8-10 pupils aged 10+ , with a higher ratio for younger children and those with special needs. Unlike a normal gallery the art is accessible for visually impaired students, whom are welcomed to touch and explore the surfaces of the sculptures on display. Accompanying adults are advised to walk their students through the Garden for both the school’s & Sculpture Garden’s peace of mind. Care must be taken as any damages must be paid for by the visiting school. There is open water in the form of large ponds and a stream that runs through the centre of the garden, so pupils must be made aware not to run or lark about.

We strongly recommend that a recce visit takes place by the organising teacher/tutor prior to first visits.

Please note that the drive and surrounding lanes are not suitable for coaches, we suggest you come by car or in minibuses. There is ample parking, and if you must come by coach relevant information regarding parking can be found here.

A 25% non-refundable deposit is payable at the time of booking. We must receive the deposit at least 2 weeks before your visit. If a deposit has not been received within two weeks of your visit then we are afraid the visit will be cancelled.

Please wear sensible shoes or Wellington boots. After heavy rain the Garden can be rather muddy and slippery in places.

Group visits must be settled up before or on the day of the visit, when exact numbers are confirmed.

Booking form can be found below - please fill in all the requested fields.

We will be in touch shortly to confirm your visit.
