'The Art of Garden Design' with Anthony Paul - Friday 21st March 2025
Join us for a truly inspirational day as Anthony Paul - world renowned landscape architect and owner of the Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden - takes us on a journey through The Art of Garden Design. This lecture has proven widely popular across the globe, and now we are delighted to present it within the centrepiece of Anthony’s landscaping world.
The grounds surrounding Anthony Paul’s home of Black & White Cottage have been gently nurtured over the past 45 years to create the truly unique and magical landscape they are today, but it is just one of dozens of breathtaking gardens that Anthony has created over his career. From ultra contemporary spaces in city centres, to rambling Provençal landscapes, as with any good artist Anthony’s signature concepts remain at the heart of everything he does. And you too can learn these ideas - how you can introduce gentle tweaks or bolder notions, without overcomplicating things.
Split into three segments, Anthony will lead you through fundamental concepts, design inspiration, and practical considerations. We’ll close the day with a Q&A, and the opportunity to mingle with like-minded souls.
Whether you are studying garden design, have embarked on your own garden business, would like some inspiration for your own patch of green, or just generally love gardens, this day’s lecture will inspire you no end.
Light refreshments* will be provided throughout, we will break for lunch so please bring a packed lunch.

Timings:
Morning lecture from 10am to 1pm, with a half hour break midway for refreshments.
Lunch 1pm - 2pm
Afternoon lecture from 2pm to 3.30pm
Q&A 3.30pm to 4pm (or there abouts)

The Indoor Gallery is located up a flight of stairs - at this time the space does not have disabled access.

About Anthony Paul
Anthony Paul has been a landscape designer for more than 40 years and is renowned for his innovative and contemporary gardens across the globe. His passion not only for the work he does to create his gardens, but for the nature that resides within, is fundamental to his approach.
Anthony is guest lecturer at the Inchbald School of Design in London, and is invited to speak across the globe. With both teaching and design projects as far away as the West coast of America, China, and New Zealand, Anthony has inspired generations of landscape designers the world over.
