Bethersden Marble

Carved from unusual Bethersden Marble, this small sculpture exquisitely celebrates the mirriad of small fossils found within the green/grey stone. Technically part of the limestone family, this ribbon of stone can be found running from West Sussex to Kent - and is sometimes called ‘Sussex Marble’ or ‘Chichester Marble’. More widely known Blue Perbeck Marble is the tail end.
